- Description
- Two fisheries technician positions will be available out of the Emporia Research and Survey Office under the direct supervision of Liam Odell. Incumbent will travel statewide to complete activities in support of invasive carp removal and research. Position will be based out of Emporia, but there is flexibility for candidates to live outside of base of operation. Ideally the candidates will live near Lawrence or Kansas City. Carp removal technicians job duties will include running gill nets, electrofishing, operating boats, data entry, equipment maintenance, and carp age and growth research.
- Qualifications
- Must be able to perform duties in a variety of outdoor settings and weather conditions. Must be comfortable with handling fish and have a positive attitude. Required to be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license. Boating and trailering experience desired but not required. Preference will be given to applicants with interest in natural resource management.
