Texas State University is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a field crew leader from approximately 24 July 2018 to 1 November 2018 to supervise field technicians conducting bat fatality searches at an operating wind facility in south Texas.

• $600/week plus housing, utilities, internet, and vehicles provided.
Successful applicants will supervise field crew conducting searches for bat carcasses beneath wind turbines, identify and work-up bats, conduct bias trials, quantify habitat characteristics, and enter and manage.
Applicants must be willing and capable of conducting field work in moderately rugged terrain under physically demanding conditions (e.g., hot temperature [>100°], venomous snakes, biting insects, etc.), be willing to work atypical hours (before sunrise and potentially long days), and can live and work well with a research team. Applicants must also possess a valid Driver’s License.
A Master’s degree in biology, ecology, wildlife management or a related discipline and experience supervising field crews required. Preferred interest in scienceand research, and experience identifying bats of Texas.
