Seeking applicant to operate the hunter check station on John C. and Mariana Jones/Hungryland Wildlife and Environmental Area located in Martin County, Florida (approximately 7 miles west of the town of Jupiter, FL ( This position may be ideal for a local college student, retiree, or resident interested in a side job. Applicants should already have their own housing and reliable transportation.

Full/part time hours--must be able to work all or most scheduled hunt dates listed:
Archery Season: September 9-12, 16-19, 23-26 and September 30 - October 3, 2017
Muzzleloading Gun Season: October 14-16, 2017
General Gun Season: October 28-30, November 4-6 and 11-13, 2017
Spring Turkey Season: March 17-18, 21, 24-25, 28 and March 31 - April 1, 2018
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED
Write legibly and record data accurately
Work independently once trained
Must be comfortable working with hunters/other public users and collecting samples from harvested animals such as deer, feral hog, and turkey (brain tissue, jaw bones, ticks, etc.)
Must be able to work early mornings through late evenings and long hours (i.e. September-November: sunrise to 2 hours after sunset;
March-April: sunrise to 3:00pm) Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
Must be comfortable working in hot/humid south Florida environment
Provide own reliable transportation and cell phone. On-site vault toilet next to hunter check station.
