- Description
- Performs diverse tasks associated with the maintenance of the county's parks, trails, recreation, cultural, historical and wildlife management areas for the Dallas County Conservation Board. Performs park maintenance and janitorial services to park grounds and facilities; operates and maintains park equipment; may be assigned supervisory responsibilities of other seasonal staff; and other duties as assigned. Work schedule will include weekend hours as assigned. There are three open positions. One position is based out of the south unit at Kuehn Conservation Area near Earlham. Two positions are based out of the north unit at Forest Park Museum near Perry. Of those two positions, one will primarily work as a maintenance technician on the Raccoon River Valley Trail and High Trestle Trail. The other position will work as a general maintenance technician for all other areas within the north unit. This position is a 6 month, 40 hour/week position.

- EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or GED Valid Iowa Driver's License with appropriate certifications LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos Ability to write simple correspondence Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's Ability to perform these operations using units of American money REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
