The Georgia Dept. of Natural Resources is seeking college students, recent graduates, or experienced naturalists for an opportunity at the Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center in Mansfield, Georgia. The selected candidate will work with Hunter And Environmental Education programming. Primary responsibilities are to assist, plan and lead activities with on-site, outreach, residential school programs, and for Hunt and Learn programs as well as with creative development and implementation of new offerings for the 2017 –2018 school year.
Other duties include helping with animal care & husbandry,
assisting the Program Manager in professional development programs as needed and public programs.
Applicants must be self-motivated, interested in working with children, love the outdoors and conservation of wildlife and are enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge with others. Preference will be given to those candidates who have similar work experience, or are currently working toward, or have earned a wildlife or education-related degree.
The seasonal naturalist program begins mid-January and lasts for 20 weeks.
Selected candidates will receive $8.75 per hour ($350 per week for a 40 hour work week)
and will have on-site housing. Some meals provided also
