Description
We are seeking seasonal park staff for a beautiful reservoir park near Wyoming's "Miracle Mile". Housing in a brand new facility is provided. This position is in a remote location - 30 minutes from the nearest town. The role will include working the front office, helping with outdoor work, and cleaning campsites. This would be a great opportunity to spend the glorious summer months in Wyoming with plenty of outdoor activities. Please fill out the standard online application. Seminoe State Park and Fort Fred Steele State Historic Site are authorized to hire up to four seasonal positions for the summer of 2022. State Parks & Cultural Resources is accepting applications for maintenance workers at both locations and a fee supervisor at Seminoe. Housing is provided for the three positions at Seminoe State Park. The employment season is from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The actual length of employment depends on the demand for services. Human Resources Contact: 307-777-7010 stacy.sprengeler@wyo.gov ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed at the job level. Seasonal Maintenance Worker: Perform routine building, grounds, landscape maintenance, minor carpentry repairs, painting, and mowing. Assist staff in the construction, installation, maintenance, renovation of grounds and buildings, and preventive maintenance. Clean and service restrooms, shelters, and buildings; remove litter from grounds, parking lots, and other public areas. Operate and/or drive a variety of vehicles and light and heavy equipment. Operate various maintenance equipment, such as mowers, weed eaters, leaf blowers, hedge trimmers, chainsaws, and other equipment required in daily operations. Utilize various hand and power tools. Follow proper handling and safety procedures involving cleaning chemicals and fuel products encountered in daily operations, including proper Personal Protective Equipment usage. Provide excellent customer service. May interact with visiting public answering basic questions. Seasonal Visitor Services Associate – Fee Supervisor/Fee Collector: Greet visitors, collect admission fees and provide excellent customer service. Answer visitor questions; provide pertinent information about the site, including interpretation and orientation of facilities and local points of interest. Handle monetary transactions and be responsible for cash register reconciliation. Answer a multi-line telephone system, transfer calls to appropriate personnel. Assist with general administrative duties, fee reports, and data entry. Perform opening and closing duties and cleaning and maintenance as needed. Provide janitorial services in the building and assist the Fee Supervisor with special projects and events. Assist all Shoshone District sites with special projects and events.
Qualifications
Qualifications For all seasonal positions, preference will be given to applicants who are professional while providing excellent customer service. **Must have a valid driver's license. **Must be at least 16 years of age. KNOWLEDGE: Detail-oriented, accurate, and thorough in completing assignments/tasks. Good interpersonal skills allowing the ability to interact with visitors from around the world. Willingness to work on a variety of assignments every day. Experience in handling money, cash registers, and retail sales. Must possess excellent customer service skills. Ability to manage and complete multiple projects with variable timelines and scopes of work. Basic construction and maintenance knowledge. Basic operational knowledge of light and heavy equipment use, as well as hand and power tools. Basic safety awareness of equipment use.
