We are seeking a mid to senior-level biologist for a full-time position in our Ferndale, CA office to work on project coordination, performing senior review of biological technical reports and other products, interacting with clients, heading field studies, analyzing permitting strategies, developing avoidance and minimization measures to protect sensitive resources, and the preparation of technical reports. This position is full-time, salaried, and eligible for full benefits. The candidate will be required to work on-site at Transcon’s Ferndale office location and will be assigned fieldwork and/or meeting assignments off-site as needed. Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications, proficiencies, level of education, and years of experience.

Only candidates with 5+ years’ experience working as a professional biologist will be considered for the position (bio tech/lab experience will not count towards years of experience). Candidates should possess a B.S. or M.S. degree in biology, botany, ecology, natural resources, wildlife management, or closely related discipline. Candidates shall have worked extensively in northern California and be familiar with species protected under the Endangered Species Act and have proven knowledge of California and federal environmental law protecting plant and wildlife species as well as jurisdictional waters. Strong writing and review skills are required. Please highlight all experience performing field work in northern California, writing technical reports, consulting with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service or National Marine Fisheries Service, and providing senior technical reviews of biological technical reports. Applicants must have a clean driving record for at least 5 years prior to the start of work.
