Description
This position supports the Director's Office and the Fish, Wildlife, Services, and Fiscal Divisions to ensure effective and efficient implementation of agency programs; coordinates the agency's work on legislation; provides oversight and management of the agency's work related to Commission policies; and coordinates and supports the agency's strategic planning work to achieve better policies, decisions and strategic operations. Work cooperatively with the Director's office administrator to support the administration of the Director's Office. Work with division administrators and make recommendations to the Director and deputy directors on matters affecting agency operations. Participate on the agency's Legislative Team and track the completion of legislative tasks and projects (during the session and interim period). Coordinate the agency's work associated with Commission policies. Complete high-priority, strategic-level projects for the agency's leadership team. Receive, research, process, and respond to requests for Public Records in accordance with Chapter 1 of the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission's Regulations and all applicable Wyoming State Statutes. Work cooperatively with the Chief of Planning and Policy on researching, writing, developing, and executing the Wyoming Game and Fish Department's special projects. Bring new ideas and concepts to the organization through innovative thinking. Flexibly manage multiple, demanding, and high-priority programs and/or projects resulting in exceptional results. Contributes to the Wyoming Game & Fish executive team.
Qualifications
PREFERENCES: Preference will be given to those with professional-level work experience with Game and Fish operations, teamwork, and process improvement work. KNOWLEDGE: Ability to think strategically and then translate into operational and tactical action. Ability to work independently on complex projects and issues. Ability to bring disparate people together as a team to achieve a result for high-profile department activities. Knowledge of office procedures and process improvement work. Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning. Knowledge of legislative procedures and requirements to initiate, review, and track legislation pertaining to the agency. Ability to participate on internal teams to address agency priorities. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor's Degree (typically in Business) Experience: 1-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Business) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Policy & Planning Analyst III OR Education & Experience Substitution: 4-6 years of progressive work experience (typically in Business) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Policy & Planning Analyst III Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: None NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: This position takes place in an average work environment.
