Description
Come work with the Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association (NSEA) and community volunteers to recover wild salmon runs in Whatcom County! Become a Stream Restoration Intern to help lead NSEA’s fall work party season and private work parties with community groups. WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM THE STREAM RESTORATION INTERNSHIP? • Spend Saturdays restoring riparian habitat. • Learn about restoration techniques, native plants, and salmon ecology. • Educate community members about the importance of stream restoration. • Instruct volunteers in proper planting, mulching, caging, and invasive removal techniques. • Have fun and enjoy new sights in Whatcom County!
Qualifications
Stream restoration interns should have great interpersonal skills and be willing to get dirty and work hard. They must be able to consistently lift and carry 40lbs.
