Description
Join us this summer as a Summer Camp Guide in Marin County, CA! Make a difference in the lives of kids by helping them connect with the natural world. We have positions available working with ages 5 and up and programs involving neighborhood nature, marine science, outdoor rock climbing, and more! We place applicants with the age group and program content that interests them and that they are qualified to work with. Work Hours 830am to 4pm (5pm on some days if aftercare is needed by camper families) Summer Season Dates: June 12 – July 30, 2022 (no camp the week of July 4) We require at least 3 weeks of the 6. Compensation Pay scale starts at $22.50 per hour and is dependent on experience. Paid training. Other paid benefits and bonuses to be described during the interview process. Qualifications
Qualifications and Expectations: Creativity and passion for mentoring youth in a natural flow learning environment with an open and flexible structure. Care about equity and diversity as well as creating a welcoming and inclusive space for all. Current Wilderness First Aid and CPR certifications (or able to acquire before working). Empathy, compassion, and an open mind. Able to pass a background check. Able to work all 5 weeks of camp. Must demonstrate good judgment and risk assessment. Strong ability to work as a contributing member of a team, able to bring your unique voice, gifts, and contributions to the work setting. Be a professional adult: operate with responsibility and integrity. Preference will be given to applicants who Have experience working with children. Have experience as a naturalist instructor working with youth ages 4-15 in the outdoors. Have knowledge of SF Bay Area hazards, mammals, field ecology, trees, birds/birdsong, etc. Have experience and/or certifications in kayaking, rock climbing and other skills that are part of our programming. Are pursuing or have a college degree in biology, marine biology, ecology, environmental science or similar.
