Looking for 2-3 undergraduates willing to assist in the day to day workings of an 11,000 acre ranch in McMullen County, Texas. Intern job duties may include, but are not limited to helping with wildlife habitat; breeding facilities; filling feeders; brush clearing; deer capture; maintenance/installation of hunting blinds; operating farm equipment ; facilities maintenance; running snares; land discing/planting; wildlife harvest and data collection; assisting hunters for deer, upland birds and exotics; game cleaning and preparation; and other general ranch work as needed. Applicant must be able to lift 75 lbs and maneuver across rough terrain. Interns may be allowed to assist with deer harvest management and guiding hunts.
College students and/or recent graduates in a wildlife management or related degree plan. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, self starter with a strong work ethic and a ranch/hunting background. Applicants should have good people skills. This position requires working long hours and weekends and in adverse weather conditions. Candidates must maintain a valid driver’s license and Texas hunting license.
