In cooperation with the U.S. Forest Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit (LTBMU), the Great Basin Institute is recruiting one Visitor Center Volunteer. During the Covid-19 pandemic, for the health and safety of staff and visitors, Taylor Creek Visitor Center will be closed, but will serve the public outdoors on the entrance patio. An open-air canopy with tables and plexiglass sneeze guards will protect both the visitor and staff. All staff and volunteers are to wear facial coverings/ masks. Visitors are not required to wear masks; but are encouraged to do so. Six-foot distance tape or stickers are placed on the pavement to ensure proper social distancing rules are adhered to.
Volunteer duties during Covid-19 pandemic include: Answering walk-up visitors’ questions; trail roving; dispensing free information, guides and maps; maintaining sanitized conditions at the table & on site. TCVC volunteers will serve a modified volunteer schedule from Friday-Sunday, 10am - 4pm. A single RV site with hook ups is provided at the Baldwin campground (walking distance to the Center). Local South Lake Tahoe volunteers are also encouraged to apply. Interested volunteers should submit a cover letter, resume, and three references. Please indicate your earliest availability.
Volunteers should have experience with Customer Service, be knowledgeable of the local area, friendly and willing to assist.
