- This is a full-time benefitted position with a primary duty station at the Grand Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (GNDNERR) near Moss Point, MS that is administratively associated with the MSU Coastal and Marine Extension Program (CMEP). This position reports to both the GNDNERR Director and MSU CMEP Director. The primary function of this position is to assist with all activities associated with the GNDNERR’s System Wide Monitoring Program (SWMP). The scope of work for this position involves maintaining scientific equipment; collecting water quality samples; processing samples; data quality check procedures; providing support for outreach activities; and, other duties as assigned. As a benefitted MSU employee, this position is eligible to take up to 6 credit hours of courses for free per semester and could use this benefit to obtain a graduate degree (pending supervisor approval and admission into a graduate program). This position is tentatively funded for 2 years but may be extended. - Bachelor's degree with major coursework in a curriculum appropriate for the field of assignment and familiarly with local ecosystems.
