Job Duties: Assist with the big game research (bighorn sheep, elk, deer, mountain lion, pronghorn), captures, surveys, along with big game and avian diseases. Assist with project proposals, data input, project preparations, meetings, presentations, record keeping, lab assistance, disease sample collections, harvest information, and regulations. Assist with big game check station operation, recording data and aging deer, elk and Pronghorn; as needed, assist with other agency staff with depredation, wildlife management areas and other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Considerable knowledge of big game and other wildlife species; life history and habitat needs. Ability to communicate effectively; set goals and objectives; perform heavy physical labor and work outdoors for long periods of time; ability to hike through rough terrain. Ability to work in extreme weather conditions; perform office work, operate and maintain hand and power tools, telemetry equipment, UTVs, trucks, etc... Develop and maintain professional relations with a broad range of agencies and publics. Driver's license required. Computer skills highly desirable (MS Word, Excel, ArcGIS).
Requirements: 15 semester hours or the equivalent of post high school coursework/training in fisheries management, natural resources and/or biology and 12 months experience in wildlife, recreation or fisheries management. Driver’s license required.
