he Department of Marine and Environmental Science at Hampton University invites applications for a nine-month tenure track Assistant Professor of Marine and Environmental Science, beginning August 2022. Candidates with research backgrounds in terrestrial, aquatic, and/or geosciences and an interest in developing a local research program training students in Virginia’s Coastal Plain and its watersheds will be considered. Candidates with research experience in green energy technology, environmental ecology, and/or wetland restoration ecology are particularly encouraged to apply. Candidates must demonstrate commitment to inclusive excellence in teaching, with demonstrated ability to teach and mentor a diverse range of students from underrepresented backgrounds in the aquatic and environmental sciences. The successful candidate will teach field and laboratory courses at both graduate and undergraduate levels in the fields of ecology, environmental science, conservation biology and resource management, as well as the quantitative and geospatial sciences.
