I am pleased to announce that, starting in January of 2021, I will be joining Penn State University as Head of the Department of Ecosystem Science & Management. As I move my research group (https://cardinale.seas.umich.edu/) to PSU, I have funding available for three (3) new Ph.D. students to join my lab.
Members of the Cardinale lab focus on the conservation and restoration of biodiversity in natural systems, as well as the use of ecological design to improve human-engineered ecosystems. Most of our work is focused on the management of biodiversity in freshwater habitats such as streams, lakes, and wetlands, but we have worked in ecosystems as diverse as grasslands, forests, and kelp beds.
If you are interested, please apply by January 4th, at https://ecosystems.psu.edu/graduate/apply
A B.S. or M.S. in ecology, environmental science, fisheries & wildlife, natural resource conservation, or comparable field is required. Experience doing research is preferred.
