The primary function of the position is to be the main interface with the angling public during creel surveys on the tidal Rappahannock River near Fredericksburg, VA. Other duties may include fish sampling, data entry, database management, and equipment maintenance. Work will be completed according to the methodology and time schedule outlined by the supervisor. Willingness to work a flexible work schedule is a must.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must possess strong interpersonal communication skills, and have the desire to learn. The ability to do the following is required: 1) work independently, 2) adapt to changing situations and conditions, and 3) work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Qualifications: Preference will be given to those who have completed or are currently pursuing a degree in Fisheries Science, or closely related field. Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Virginia driver's license.
