Under the direction of the Science & Policy Resources Branch Chief, the Policy & Education Team Lead (NRS-V) is responsible for leading, directing, and coordinating work of the Policy and Education team. Responsible for preparing presentations, briefing documents, data management and analysis in support of Division’s activities. Coordinates communication with division staff regarding policies and regulations. Interacts with commercial and recreational fisherman, agency partners, marine stakeholders, department personnel and other agency staff in meeting goals of the division. Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency, Division and Branch rules, regulations and procedures.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree OR higher in a Natural Resource Science, a related Social or Economic Science, or a related Biological Science.
Three years of progressively responsible experience in fisheries-related research, planning, program development and field executed management programs;
Two years of experience as a full-line supervisor or three years of experience in a non-supervisory position that required leadership skills and implementing program directives;
Publication record in fisheries related research;
