- SUNY ESF is expanding the existing trail network at our Newcomb Campus. This includes adding more than 2 miles of new trails at the Adirondack Interpretive Center (AIC), as well as rehabilitating the popular Goodnow Mountain trail. This expansion, the first since the AIC was opened in 1990, will provide additional recreational, educational, and research access for the public, educational groups, and researchers. - Qualifications
- The Newcomb Campus Trail Crew will be in residence for 12 weeks, starting Wednesday May 24th and ending Friday, August 12th. Housing is provided in Rich Lake Area dorms with meals provided at the Rich Lake Dining Center. All work will be designed and managed by Wilderness Property Management, who will train and mentor the trail crew. WPM is an active member of the Professional Trail Builders Association. Crew members are responsible for their own transportation to and from Newcomb, and on a daily basis to and from work sites, though it is anticipated the majority of work sites will be within walking distance of the housing area. Car pooling with other crewmembers and local staff is also an option.
