Otterbein University, a comprehensive liberal arts institution, is accepting applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant/Associate Professor position in Biology beginning August 2022. We seek candidates with a demonstrated commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion who will contribute to the department’s efforts to enhance diversity and provide an inclusive learning environment for all. Qualifications: Ph.D. or DVM; broadly trained biologist with expertise in zoo and conservation science, teaching experience and experience in conservation/zoos is required. Strong publication record and evidence of teaching effectiveness. Responsibilities: Teach and assist in the undergraduate program in Zoo and Conservation Science, working with students and partner institutions, including the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium and Ohio Wildlife Center. The candidate should have a commitment to teaching in the liberal arts context. Teaching load (total of 24 workload hours for the academic year) will include Introduction to Zoo Science, and upper level courses relevant to Zoo and Conservation Science (e.g., Animal Behavior, Zoo and/or Wildlife Practicum, Conservation Biology).
