Unity College is seeking a Visiting Instructor of Captive Wildlife Care and Education for our Fall 2018 semester. This position will support instruction and disciplinary expertise in Captive Wildlife Care and Education at Unity College teaching 24 course credits annually. Credits will consist of a combination of Introduction to Captive Wildlife Care and Education, Animal Training, Enrichment and Exhibit Design and the Captive Wildlife Care and Education Capstone and/or other classes as assigned. Other duties include advising, professional development, and service to the College.
The successful candidate will have a master's degree in a relevant field of study and:
Substantial experience working with captive wildlife in one or more of the following settings: zoos, aquariums, rehabilitation facilities, nature centers, and/or museums.
Training or experience with wildlife rehabilitation practices, wildlife education programming, or captive/field-based conservation
experience with formal teaching.
Knowledge of basic husbandry, training, and enrichment of captive wildlife
conservation education/program participation or development.
Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record.
Strong oral and written communication skills and facility with technical terminology appropriate to the position .
Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs as well as internet, email and our learning management system.
