- Teaching responsibilities include First-Year Organismal Biology for majors, an Upper-Level Environmental Science course (e.g., Earth Systems, Geology, Hydrology, or others depending on the candidate’s areas of expertise) and General Education courses. Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated excellence as innovative teachers, who understand liberal arts education that includes a student-centered undergraduate experience, and who have successfully mentored first-generation, minority, and/or underrepresented students. The successful candidate will have the option to mentor undergraduate research.
- Qualifications
- Maryville College, a selective four-year liberal arts college committed to superior teaching, invites applications for a one-year, full-time Visiting Lecturer of Biology position beginning in August 2023. We seek a broadly trained Environmental Biologist who holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Science, Earth Science, Geology, Field Biology, or related field(s); ABD in the final stages of completion will also be considered. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to apply for a tenure track position in the fall of 2024. Applications by members of all underrepresented groups are encouraged.
