Description
This position is responsible for the supervision of the Interpretation staff, Sales Leads, Café Leads, and Sales staff during the summer season, on-call staff during off-season, and other related duties to assist the Visitor Experience Manager. Education/Training Requirements: Bachelor’s or associates degree in a field complementary to the Center’s mission or the equivalent of 3 to 4 years of experience. Proficient with point of sales software and money handling, as well as leading tours and presenting to groups. Supervisory experience preferred. Primary Responsibilities: Supervises and trains staff within the Visitor Experience Team. Assigns and checks work, creates and establishes schedules, sets deadlines, and delegates authority. Ensures appropriate staffing levels at all Visitor Experience Team works stations during open hours and for opening and closing duties. Works interpretation, ticketing and café stations as needed on peak visitor days and during off-season. Open and closes the sales counter, café and exhibits. Works weekends and other shifts as scheduled. May be required to work overtime. Maintains the appearance of the staffed exhibits, sales and café counters, including counter displays, and ensures all areas are well stocked. Maintains a clean, neat personal appearance including clean uniform. Delivers Behind-the-Scenes Tours and Encounter programs using appropriate techniques. In conjunction with Visitor Experience Manager, assists with the development and implementation of policies, procedures and programs of Visitor Experience Operations, including updating manuals and cash-handling procedures. Creates and maintains data collection through visitor surveys and evaluations. Assists appropriate departments with group sales and reservations and pre-sold tickets. Also assists with event inquiries and reservations. Fosters good relations with visitors, volunteers, community leaders, contractors, and fellow staff members by promoting positive attitudes, good will, cooperation, and providing high standards of service. This is a full-time temporary position, approximately 8 months with potential for extension. ASLC offers a competitive wage (DOE).
