Description
The Volunteer and Partnerships Engagement Specialist Resource Assistant will support Eastern Region volunteer and partnership programs through improving data collection and management; supporting collaborations and networking; developing an array of inclusive communications; developing training, manuals, and other supportive materials; providing outstanding customer service; and assisting with the implementation of priority focus areas. These include strengthening relationships; engaging underserved and diverse communities; creating a welcoming atmosphere for volunteers, partners, and employees; and implementing the regional sustainable recreation action plans and national trails stewardship challenge. This is a 8 month program that is a rigorous work and learning experience through hands on projects in partnership with the Forest Service, professional development and training opportunities, and cultivating a new network of conservation professionals. Position is remote within Eastern Region boundaries. Duties: Work closely with team to support relationships and priority work in Volunteers and Partnerships Gain expertise in the Forest Service Manuals related to Volunteers and Partnerships Assist with workforce development through Forest Service programs such as Youth Conservation Corps, Public Lands Corps, Civilian Climate Corps, Resource Assistant Program, volunteerism, and other opportunities Learn Forest Service data management systems such as Volunteer and Service Reports, Natural Resource Management, Volunteer.gov, etc. and help improve data collection Communicate program goals and objectives to the field, volunteers, and partners Help create a welcoming and inclusive space to engage and support our diverse partners, volunteers, and employees Develop facilitation and collaboration skills Support volunteer and partner recognition program Other duties as developed through shifting priority work assignments
Qualifications
Looking for someone passionate about community engagement, with excellent customer service, communication, and data management skills. Strong organizational skills needed Experience working with underserved communities, Indigenous communities, and/or Veteran communities is desired. Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
