Description
The USA National Phenology Network (USA-NPN, www.usanpn.org), a national-scale program based in the School of Natural Resources and the Environment at the University of Arizona, is seeking a Volunteer Engagement Coordinator to lead recruitment, engagement, and retention efforts for the USA-NPN’s Nature’s Notebook program. Nature’s Notebook is a plant and animal observation program that engages professional and volunteer observers across the U.S. in documenting the timing of plant and animal life cycle stages (phenology). The Coordinator will bring fresh, innovative ideas to the program and focus specific recruitment efforts on audiences traditionally underrepresented in the science fields. Applications reviewed as received; position to start in early 2022, start date flexible. Coordinator will be based at the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ; remote work from outside Arizona not permitted. About USA-NPN: The USA-NPN is a national science initiative that seeks to advance the science of phenology, support managers and decision makers with phenology data and information, communicate and connect about the field of phenology, and create a diverse and equitable network. The Coordinator will join an enthusiastic team at the USA-NPN that offers a flexible, supportive working environment. We are committed to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in our network, including assessing and addressing organizational practices that may foster or hinder DEI, including office norms and staff development, and we collaborate with like-minded organizations to advance DEI in the fields in which we operate.
