The Redfish Rocks Community Team is hiring!
We are seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to implement an interpretive docent program at Battle Rock Park in Port Orford, Oregon. The position will be approximately half time and six months in duration.
As volunteer coordinator, responsibilities will consist of coordinating and implementing the Redfish Rangers interpretive docent program at Battle Rock Park in Port Orford, Oregon. The program will provide volunteer interpretive docents at Battle Rock Park to inform the public about the unique values of Redfish Rocks Marine Reserve visible from the park. The major responsibilities of this position include finalizing training curriculum and coordinating a volunteer training, scheduling and coordinating volunteer interpreters, organizing events, writing press releases and media articles, organizing a season-end seminar and producing regular reports to the Redfish Rocks Community Team.

The Team includes a diverse set of members representing the City of Port Orford, commercial fishing, recreational fishing, port, local business, recreation, conservation, watershed council, and science. Since 2009, the Team has been working with the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) to develop specific elements of Redfish Rocks Site Management Plan which includes site-specific monitoring plans; education and outreach goals; and compliance and enforcement objectives.
