EcoWB is urgently seeking a volunteer GIS Analyst for a brief assignment in support of the Kenya Water Hyacinth Project. The volunteer would be responsible for characterizing recent trends in the abundance and distribution of water hyacinth in Winam Gulf (Lake Victoria) using publicly-available satellite imagery (i.e., Landsat8 and Sentinel). The volunteer would be expected to prepare a brief report of their methodology and findings, and be willing to discuss potential future applications of remote sensing and GIS-enabled modeling in support of the project’s conservation objectives.
Applicants must have relevant GIS experience and access to the necessary GIS software. Work would be conducted remotely from the volunteer’s location. To apply, please send a brief statement of interest and a current resume or CV to Danielle Reich at email@example.com.
