SUMMARY Established in 1999, Transcon Environmental, Inc., offers environmental consulting services throughout the United States. Our highly successful team of resource professionals provides environmental planning, permitting, and compliance services. We are seeking an on-call construction monitor for projects located in northern California. ABOUT THE POSITION The job primarily involves environmental compliance monitoring of water system facilities. The principal duties will be inspecting and monitoring construction activities to ensure that the items installed are in compliance with construction standards. An example of daily activities may include performing on-site inspections, taking photographs of construction activities, and preparing daily inspection reports. Other activities may include participating in field meetings, notifying the water district of any areas of non-compliance, and coordinating with water district personnel. The position will be remote, primarily based in the Reno area. Car travel to job sites is required. Ideal candidates for this work will possess a degree in an engineering or environmental resources field and have experience performing construction monitoring in the field of water systems. We anticipate that employment will begin in May 2018. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE Experience working with engineering drawings and construction personnel 3+ years of past experience in water system inspection Ability to perform work duties independently Strong communication skills Highly organized, motivated, thorough, accurate, dependable, and trustworthy Good problem-solving skills PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Degree in an engineering or environmental resource field Good technology skills using iPad field reporting apps
