- Job Duration: 8/20/22 to 11/10/22 Duties: Identify, count and record waterbirds utilizing the Mackinac Straits. Requires the use of binoculars and spotting scope. Must legibly keep hourly records of the number of individuals of each species, and movements of waterbirds on provided forms. Eight hours per day starting 15 minutes before sunrise. Must write and post a blog report of observations 2 to 3 times per week on MSRW website. Required to write a seasonal summary report at the conclusion of the season.
- Qualifications
- Qualifications: must be proficient at identifying waterbirds of the Great Lakes, in flight and on the water. Must be experienced using binoculars and spotting scope, and recording data. Must have own binoculars, spotting scope a plus. Be able to withstand long hours in cold working conditions; having cold weather gear. Must have reliable transportation.
