- RES is now accepting applications for a Wetland Scientist / Ecologist II with two (2) to five (5) years of relevant work or educational experience to provide broad environmental support to a team of environmental restoration and mitigation professionals, based out of Louisville, Kentucky. The Ecologist II will work collaboratively with ecology and regulatory personnel to perform all aspects of fieldwork and compilation of technical reports. You will be part of a team that is always ready to support you in your learning process, working in several different sites across Kentucky and Indiana. Some of the fun stuff the team does includes biological assessment of a dam removal project, big sandy crayfish relocation project in Eastern Kentucky, monitoring a bald eagle nest during the construction of a project, and a wetland delineation for a proposed bourbon distillery. What your day-to-day might look like? Around 50% of your time, you will be in the field! You will be performing wetlands delineations, stream assessments, threatened/endangered species habitat assessments, vegetation and hydrological monitoring, and terrestrial and aquatic surveys. Please be advised that we perform these tasks come rain or come shine and working outside in harsh and under adverse weather conditions (including both cold and hot environments) is part of the routine. You will also be walking long distances, climbing, bending, lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), and performing other physical activities. Some of our projects require limited travel with overnight stays. Around 50% of your time, you will be performing data entry, data processing, and technical writing based on your fieldwork. Superior writing, communication, and computer skills (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and attention to detail are paramount! Ability to effectively multi-task in order to meet project requirements and deadlines is crucial.

- Qualifications We would like to speak with you if you have many of the following: B.S. or M.S. in an environmental science-related field (such as but not limited to ecology, forestry, botany, natural resources, wildlife science, soils, hydrology, etc.) Experience performing wetland delineations and regulatory permitting Proficiency in plant identification in wetlands and uplands of the southeast and Midwest Ability to read and interpret environmental mapping What will make you stand out?
