- Oklahoma State University and the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation (ODWC) are conducting a research project on Eastern Wild Turkey nest success and poult survival in southeastern Oklahoma. Oklahoma State University will be filling 2 full-time, temporary technician positions to assist with field research. Location: Southeast/Southwest, Oklahoma Timeline: February 1 – July 31, 2023 Salary: $1,800 per month ($11.25 per hour for 40 hours per week), plus work vehicle and housing provided Application deadline: Applications will be reviewed as they are submitted and continue until the position is filled. Roles, Duties, & Responsibilities of the Position: • Capturing, marking, and tracking wild turkey poults and hens using VHF radio telemetry • Vegetation sampling • Camera trap deployment • Other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor

- Qualifications: • Selected candidates must possess a valid US driver license (without restrictions) • VHF/UHF telemetry is highly preferred • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with landowners, co-workers, and supervisors • Ability to perform strenuous work independently, in a group, and in diverse climates • Preferred candidates will be detail-orientated, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and possess a strong work ethic and excellent organization skills • Selected candidates must be willing to work odd hours as needed, especially early a.m. and weekends • Experience working with upland game birds.
