About Us: Each year WildCare treats over 4,000 ill, injured or orphaned wild animals in our wildlife hospital, teaches more than 40,000 Bay Area children and adults in our environmental education programs, advocates for legislation and public action that benefit wildlife and their habitats, and answers thousands of telephone calls concerning human/wildlife interaction on our Living with Wildlife Hotline – 415.456.SAVE. Our mission is to live well with wildlife. WildCare is home to 18 educational wildlife that includes small mammals, reptiles, and birds. These animals can no longer survive in the wild and now serve as ambassadors for their species, educating thousands of Bay Area children and adults each year. What to Expect: Our Ambassadors require daily feeding, care, enrichment, and training to provide them the best life possible. Ambassador volunteers help care for our animal ambassadors and are able to provide valuable educational messages to the public on a daily basis. They also may have the opportunity to learn handling techniques, including manning raptors and positive reinforcement training techniques. Ambassador volunteers will also be asked to participate in daily animal presentations, school programs, day camps, center tours, and special events as needed. You can learn more about WildCare and what we do at www.discoverwildcare.org. HOW TO APPLY: Please fill out the google form posted under "website" and we will likely reach out within 1-2 weeks.
