We are looking for a highly motivated, multi-tasking individual who can serve the agency by providing field operations to the public on a daily basis for the Green River Region.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
•Large and small scale project planning and implementation, complete forest inventories and develop long-term forest management strategies and plans on Wildlife Management Areas (WMA). Serve as crew member on regional Rx Fire burn crews.
•Work to maintain a balance of silviculture and wildlife values to WMA’s within the Green River Region.
•Work cooperatively with agency wildlife biologists, consultants/contractors, federal agencies and the public.
•Some weekend/overnight travel required.
•Pesticide Applicators License and agency Rx Fire Qualification requirements required to be obtained/met.
Spends majority of time outdoors.

•Experience with forest management practices is preferred, marking, delineation, creating or writing forest plans, logging or timber operations, timber/forest related computer programs.
•Must be able to communicate effectively in writing and in person and utilize computers for daily operations.
•Highly qualified applicants will have Rx Fire certifications/experience
•Highly qualified applicants will have Society of American Foresters certification.
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in forestry.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must have three years of professional experience in forestry and/or wildlife forestry.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: A master's degree in forestry will substitute for one year of the required experience
