The Wildlife Habitat Ecology Lab at Montana State University is seeking two research assistants to aid in soils/rangeland data collection for research investigating the utility and validity of ecological site descriptions and soil properties for rangeland and sage-grouse habitat management in Northcentral Montana. We are seeking two assistants to collect soil samples and characterize soil pits on rangelands monitoring sites. Housing is provided in the form of a pop-up camper trailer. Work vehicle also provided. The start date and duration of employment are flexible.
Qualifications preferred, not required. -Soil Science -Remote camping -Operation of truck and trailer -ATVs -jackhammer -Ability to dig soil pits by hand in adverse weather and soil conditions.
