Wildcat Creek wildlife Center is a wildlife rehabilitation and Hospital facility located in Indiana. Annually we admit 2000 wildlife patients of all native and migratory species. We rehabilitate mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and all avian species. Interns work, hands-on with over 100 different species! New skill sets learned will include different feeding techniques, preparation of species specific formulas, enrichment protocols, and animal restraint. Interns also have the opportunity to read radiographs, observe surgeries, and participate in post-operative care of wildlife patients under the direct supervision of our medical staff. We are looking for interns that can enthusiastically work 60 to 70 hours a week. The work week consists of five 12 to 14 hour days and two non-consecutive days off per week. Minimum time commitment is 10 weeks. This is an unpaid internship but does include housing at the center for full-time interns. Part-time positions are also available and consist of three 10 hour days per week. Part-time positions do not include housing. Interns work in a fast paced, high stress, multitasking, challenging environment! Come have fun with us this summer! We are hoping to have our summer internships filled by April 1 so apply today! Be sure to check out our website as well as our Facebook page and learn more about the center. We offer internships year-round, so if your summer is full consider a spring or fall internship!
Preferred applicant will be currently enrolled in or a recent graduate from a related field of study. Prior animal experience is definitely a plus, but not a requirement.
