Full-time seasonal (March and April through August) fieldwork position with benefits including: 100% paid medical, TRS retirement, sick and vacation leave. Overtime paid for any hours over 40. Term extensions possible for the right applicant and funding. Start and end dates are somewhat flexible. This position will assist with trapping and collaring of northern bobwhites, radio telemetry, scent stations, camera traps, meso-mammal live trapping, small mammal live trapping, distributing supplemental feed into roadside vegetation, vegetation surveys, point counts, and more. B.S. in wildlife or other closely related field. Essential Functions include: Problem-solve and work independently (potentially outside of cell service). Work in a wide range of inclement conditions including hot and cold temperatures, hiking over rough terrain, and working very early mornings. Trap, band, and place necklace style radio-transmitters and GPS backpack transmitters on northern bobwhites and scaled quail. Proficiency in common vegetation sampling techniques. Radio telemetry- Paid experience required. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and OneDrive, Proficiency with a compass as well as GPSr navigation. Proficiency with ATVs and UTVs. Proficiency with 4x4 trucks.
