- Description
- One technician needed from May through August (flexible start and end dates) to assist Regional Diversity Biologist on a variety of projects benefitting Idaho's Species of Greatest Conservation Need, as well as some day-to-day game management responsibilities. Example projects and duties could include: Columbian Sharp-tailed Grouse lek surveys, bumble bee surveys, American Beaver restoration, Western Pearlshell Mussel surveys using eDNA, Trumpeter Swan nest/brood monitoring, alpine species surveys, pelican management, and game camera installation (wolf survey). Position is 40 hours per week. Some weekend work may be required. Shared government housing will be available on a Wildlife Management Area.
- Qualifications
- Preferred applicant will have a BS in wildlife management, biology, or a related natural resource field (Senior status students with experience may be considered as well) and job experience conducting various wildlife surveys. Applicants should be proficient with data collection and data entry using various Microsoft applications. Applicants must be physically capable of hiking off-trail in mountainous terrain with a 30-40 lb backpack.
