Primary duties include assisting the northeast regional wildlife management team with wildlife damage management, in particular deer, turkey and goose depredation which could include fencing, hazing, and/or lethal control. Additional duties would include assisting with winter and spring deer capture and survival studies, as well as pheasant winter-sex ratio surveys. Deer and turkey telemetry, wildlife mortality investigations as well as assisting with equipment maintenance, posting of Walk-In Areas and Game Production Areas, data entry, and educational events are additional duty opportunities. This position may require occasionally working evenings and/or weekends and in adverse weather conditions.
Applicant must be a full-time student at a college or university and have sophomore standing or above by the end of the Fall 2019 semester, or must currently be enrolled at a vocational-technical school and have completed one year (nine months) by the start of the internship.
