Copperhead Environmental Consulting, Inc. is a full-service environmental consulting firm headquartered in the historic village of Paint Lick, Kentucky, with satellite offices in Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. Copperhead serves a broad range of clients in need of environmental compliance, from state and federal government to private industry.
We are seeking seasonal Wildlife Technicians for the 2021 field season. Start dates will be late March through mid-May. Field work is not limited to, but predominately involves assisting with bat mist-net surveys and bat acoustic surveys.
General Responsibilities Include:
Assist in data collection for various research and monitoring projects for bats (includes mist-netting, acoustic surveys (ANABAT preferred).
Work outdoors in extreme and undesirable conditions(i.e., hot/cold temperatures, during the night)
Carry heavy equipment long distances in rugged terrain
Drive trucks/ATV’s in rugged terrain
This is a seasonal temporary position. Positions could be extended for compatible and available personnel. Copperhead offers competitive wages and covers room/board and transportation while in the field. Housing is provided at our corporate campus.

Demonstrate technical proficiency in areas of responsibility
Valid driver’s license
Pre-exposure rabies vaccination (Candidates with pre-exposure vaccinations will be given preference.)
Previous field experience with bats
Experience with mist-netting and/or acoustic monitoring of bats
Experience and demonstrated attention to detail in various methods of collecting and recording field data
