Under the direction of the Wildlife Manager, this position is responsible for assisting in a variety of wildlife habitat management practices including: summer and winter food plot implementation, native grassland prairie restoration, prescribed fire, forest stand improvement, managing corn and protein feeders, checking trail cameras, fisheries management, and stocking ponds with bait fish. Wildlife population management practices will include working with TPWD on spot light surveys for white-tail deer, covey call counts and spring breeding call counts for bobwhite quail, assisting in the annual doe harvest to help management deer population, and reporting annual deer harvest records to TPWD. Other work responsibilities will include: assisting hunting guests with the tracking and retrieval of animals, dressing of deer and hogs, and assisting the grounds crew with regular maintenance of facilities.
Must be a highly motivated and hard working individual. Be professional, polite, and courteous to everyone that you interact with. Requested Skills: Operate heavy machinery and be familiar with various farming equipment Know how to properly gut and skin both deer and hogs Using hand and power tools
